In the beginning the trams were pulled by horses, it wasn´t until the beginning of the 1900´s the trams started going on electricity. It is the city of Gothenburg who owns and run the trams. There are some trams to choose from, number 3, 5 and 9 etc. Gothenburg Railways (Göteborgs Spårvägar) runs the local rail service in Sweden’s second largest city. It has been in public service of public transport (kollektivtrafik) since 1879. The company has total of 263 trams running on 12 routes (lines) with 132 tram stops (stations) providing local transport from wee hours in the morning to wee hours […] With over 90 km (56 mi) of double track, the Gothenburg tram network covers most of the city and is the largest tram/light rail network in Scandinavia. I just came over an interesting webpage concerning trams in Gothenburg when I saw this information. Göteborg trams. There is for the moment around 250 trams or light rail vehicles in Göteborg. The oldest are from 1965, while the newest are just being delivered. We will start the presentation of types sorted in number sequences, and not age or so. Gothenburg, Sweden.
